The programme equips participants with the skills to tackle ‘locker-room’ culture, sexual harassment and different forms of physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, and bullying across the sport and physical activity sector. This active bystander programmes takes participants through the four key stages required to become an active bystander and change harmful cultures: noticing, interpreting as a problem, assuming responsibility and taking the appropriate action.

Wesport’s latest “An Evening With” event welcomes Dr. Paul Stewart to Bristol. Paul is a former Liverpool, Manchester City, and Tottenham Hotspur player with appearances for the England Men’s National Team. Paul will share his story and his lived experience of abuse growing up in football. Since retiring from the professional game, Paul authored the 2017 book “Damaged” and continues to work tirelessly to promote better safeguarding practices not only in football, but sport as a whole.
