Wesport is delighted to be hosting our next online Sport Welfare Talk on 25th March with Dr Jennifer Harris from Raising Happy Champs. They'll be providing practical tools and insights to coaches and sports club volunteers on how we can improve children and young people’s experiences in sport through positive parent engagement.
In this session, you’ll explore:
Why stress often shows up sideways between coaches and parents
What parents are actually facing (that you might not see)
How parent behaviour can both strengthen and strain a club
Why simply telling parents what not to do doesn’t work
A shift from blame to collaboration: without losing boundaries
Practical tools you can use immediately around: role clarity, communication structure, sideline behaviour, and managing expectations.
