Our City Community Cup returns for 2023

The 2023 Our City Community Cup, part of Bristol Refugee Festival, is set to be the biggest yet!

The annual football tournament, which has been running since 2011 brings communities from across Bristol and beyond together to connect, share and celebrate.

This year the tournament has 21 teams signed up to compete at Lockleaze Sports Centre on June 18th at 11am.

The Cup brings together 13 teams made up of refugees and asylum seekers and 8 teams who have entered from the local community.

The aim of the tournament is to celebrate the contribution that refugees and asylum seekers make to the city, create a better understanding of why people seek sanctuary, help overcome misconceptions and promote successful community cohesion.

This year’s cup is being organised and delivered by Wesport with support from Bristol Rovers Community Trust, The Robins Foundation, The Gloucestershire Football Association and Freestyle Bristol.

Wesport are grateful for the funding received from The Together Fund and the continued sponsorship from Craddys, without which the cup could not go ahead.

Come along to support a fun, friendly football fiesta!
