Live Longer Better
Live Longer Better is a national campaign designed to help people take control of their health, reduce the need for health and social care, and reverse some of the effects of lockdown.
With the number of people over 80 set to rise significantly in the next ten years and little increase in healthy life expectancy, health and social care services face major challenges, but it doesn’t have to be this way.
Sir Muir Gray, developed the Live Longer Better training to show how anyone over 60 can make active lifestyle changes to improve health, maintain independence, and truly live longer, better.
It encourages a cultural shift in how we think and speak about ageing, challenging stereotypes, combating ageism, and focusing on what people can regain or change to stay active and independent. By the end of the course, you’ll have a positive, empowering outlook on ageing that you can share with colleagues, clients, and friends.
The training is delivered through 12 online, self-guided videos, covering themes such as physical and mental activity, healthy lifestyle habits, and understanding ageing. It’s available in two tailored versions: one for older adults and one for practitioners.
Thanks to local Ageing Well funding, we have several free licences available. If you’re interested in accessing the course individually or with a group from your organisation, please contact: Sarah Casselden – sarah.casselden@wesport.org.uk

- Prevent and mitigate isolation.
- Increase physical ability, resilience, and health span.
