West of England Local Skills Project

On Wednesday 12th June, CIMSPA, supported by Wesport, held a webinar to introduce the West of England Local Skills Project. The webinar provided an introduction to the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA) and the local skills project taking place in the West of England. The project aims to support local employers with recruitment, retention, training and support for Sport and Physical Activity workforce.

The webinar provided information on how a number of key stakeholders are working together to ensure local education and training providers offer courses that match employer and workforce needs, to create a skilled workforce that is inclusive and meets the needs of diverse local communities and gives people who work in sport and physical activity great career pathways.

The webinar covered:
• CIMSPA and the local sport and physical activity skills project in the West of England.
• How it can support local businesses with recruitment, retention, support and training.
• How key stakeholders are working together to ensure local training match employer and workforce needs.
• Meeting the needs of diverse, local communities and supporting career pathways.
• How organisations can get involved in the skills project.
