Title: Club Development Officer

Accountable to: Manager

Accountable for: Delivery of the Ignite Programme

Location: Bristol

Gross Salary: £22,000 depending on experience

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, full-time, core hours of 9am-5:30pm but essential you can commit to evenings and weekends for club visits and events.

Founded in 2004 Access Sport is a dynamic, growing charity dedicated to realising the potential of local volunteer-led sports clubs in deprived areas. Our mission is to transform the lives of young people from disadvantaged communities through sport. The charity has won many awards for excellence including the BT Sports Industry Award 2015 for best community sports project nationally.

The Ignite Programme:

The Ignite Programme was launched in September 2011 to support community sports clubs become more inclusive of disabled young people in East London. Since April 2013 in London, Bristol and Manchester Ignite has engaged over 5,300 disabled young people aged 14-25 years, up-skilled over 320 new disability specific coaches and volunteers, supported a total of 109 community clubs and has won several awards.

The Ignite Programme has now been awarded a grant from CSAF to expand the work that Access Sport has been doing in London and Bristol. Our vision is to empower community clubs in disadvantaged areas to become more inclusive of young disabled people and support their personal development through life and employment skills training.

Main Purpose and Scope of the Role:

This role will be responsible for the delivery of the Ignite Programme, funded predominantly by CSAF. The role will be part of a wider Ignite team across London and Bristol working with 40 clubs but will be primarily responsible for a group of approximately 44 clubs, beacon, satellite and light touch. In addition to this the post holder may be involved in work across the wider Ignite programme.
